The U.S. Embassy in Port Louis provides a range of services for U.S. citizens residing in or visiting Mauritius, Seychelles and Reunion Island.

Routine services including U.S. passport applications or renewals, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CROBAs), and notarials are by appointment only.

Appointments for these services will no longer be accepted by telephone, email or walk-ins.

We encourage U.S. Citizens in Mauritius, Seychelles and Reunion Island to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrolment Program (STEP) so that we can reach you in an emergency.

If your U.S. passport is lost or stolen and you need to travel urgently, please call 230-202-4432 or send us an email at ptlconsular@state.gov. Please note that emergency passports are only issued in real emergencies and evidence of the need for immediate, emergency travel should be submitted with your application.  You must appear in person to apply.

After-Hours Emergencies

For deaths, arrests, hospitalizations or other life-and-death emergencies involving U.S. citizens outside our regular business hours, please call the Duty Officer at 230-5253-3641.
