Travel Advisory – U.S. Embassy Port Louis, Mauritius (August 12, 2020)

Location:  Mauritius and Seychelles

Event: The Department of State, in close coordination with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has lifted the Global Level 4 Health Advisory. The Global Advisory, initially put in place on March 19, 2020, advised U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19. With health and safety conditions improving in some countries and potentially deteriorating in others, the Department is returning to country-specific levels of travel advice.

Mauritius – Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution due to COVID-19.

Mauritius has resumed some transportation options, but travelers are barred from entry unless they hold permanent residence or domicile in Mauritius. Mauritius has resumed business operations including day cares and schools.
