U.S. Embassy Port Louis is pleased to announce the launch of an online payment program for adult passport renewals for U.S. citizens resident in Mauritius, Seychelles, and Reunion. Qualified applicants will no longer need to make an interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy to pay the passport fee. Effective September 15, 2023, adult U.S. passport holders who are eligible to renew their passports using the DS-82 application, may pay online. Visit https://mu.usembassy.gov to determine eligibility to use this option. The secure payment site will be linked under the heading “Renew a 10-year Adult Passport by Mail.” If eligible, you may then submit payment via U.S. or international credit or debit card, electronic funds transfer from a U.S.-based bank account, Amazon Pay, or Pay Pal. Please note that in the coming months, there will be a major upgrade to the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) registration system. We will keep you posted, please stay tuned for details.
For registrants in Seychelles, you should have received a notification about the Consul’s visit to Seychelles next week. Please email us at PTLConsular@state.gov if you would like to schedule an appointment to submit a passport application, apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or a notary service. You can use pay.gov to pay for an adult passport renewal and hand the application packet to the Consul on her trip.
For registrants in Reunion, the Consul is scheduling a trip in early November for services, please watch for appointment signups!
