Event:

The Mauritius Ministry of Health has confirmed 639 cases of COVID-19.

The government of Mauritius has implemented measures to limit the spread of COVID-19. Travelers should be prepared for restrictions to be put into effect with little or no advance notice. U.S. citizens who are considering returning to the United States are urged to work with their airlines to make travel arrangements while flights are still available.

Effective March 6, 2021, the government of Mauritius announced contact tracing (French) in response to suspected community transmission of COVID-19.  All schools and other educational institutions are closed the week of March 8th. International flight arrivals have been suspended, however, departures remain scheduled. Restrictions on the movement of people are not in effect yet social distancing and other health regulations remain in place. The majority of non-essential businesses are permitted to open subject to regulations outlined by the Ministry of Health.

The Seychelles Ministry of Health has confirmed 2,979 cases of COVID-19.

The government of Seychelles has implemented measures to limit the spread of COVID-19. Travelers should be prepared for restrictions to be put into effect with little or no advance notice. U.S. citizens who are considering returning to the United States are urged to work with their airlines to make travel arrangements while flights are still available.

Effective March 1, 2021, the government of Seychelles announced the easing of preventative measures. Restrictions on the movement of people are no longer in effect, however, social distancing regulations remain in place. Schools remain closed until later in March. Shops are permitted to remain open until 20:00. The majority of non-essential services and businesses are permitted to reopen, subject to provisions outlined by the Ministry of Health.

Effective March 2, 2021, additional health measures and regulations (French) were implemented. Social distancing, mask mandates, curfews, and other health regulations remain in place. The majority of non-essential services and businesses are permitted to open, subject to provisions outlined by the authorities.
