Mr. James Donegan, Charge d’Affaires for U.S. Embassy Victoria, is responsible for the United States’s bilateral and multilateral relationship with Seychelles. He is focused on managing the expanding diplomatic, economic, and security-related policy priorities shared by the U.S. and Seychellois governments.

Mr. Donegan is a veteran diplomat, member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service, and class of Minister Counselor. He has worked for the U.S. Department of State in assignments around the world, including as Director of African Regional Peace and Security, Director of European Security and Political Affairs, Minister for Political Affairs in Rome, Deputy Chief of Mission in Juba, Consul General in Auckland, and Counselor for Political Affairs at the United States Mission to the United Nations in New York.

During his career, Mr. Donegan has received several prestigious awards for his service from the U.S. Department of State. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Manhattan College. He speaks English,Spanish and Italian. His wife, Susan, is a former British diplomat.
